These Songs Make Me Want to Cry a Bit

Lately I have been playing a few songs over and over again. Pretty much sappy, full of regret and longing type songs and I have been obsessed. Here is what they are. Live them, love them, eat them!

First off is Comfortable by John Mayer. Yes I know that it has been out there for a while now but hey better late then never right???

Go to it !

Next is Wish You Well by Katie Herzig . This song was Tuesday's episode of Pretty Little Liars, which is how I found it. It took me a matter of 2 seconds to fall in love this song. The perfect goodbye song. It has that small glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel!

Listen!

So enjoy, listen, and don't be ashamed to cry!

Quick Update

Generally I just write about music because simply, it is what I like. But I am a little book worm. I found out about this Read-A-Thon that goes Monday to Wednesday which I will be participating in. Also my friend Danielle who reviews books asked me if I wanted to write a review about a few books so what better way to kill two birds with one stone? Expect some books to be talked about in the near future!

Hayley Williams

I've already been through my " I love Paramore, I want to dye my hair red" phase but as I was hunting for some music on youtube I came across something very interesting. The song is called Teenagers by Haley Williams , the lovely lady in front of Paramore ( Listen here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9YTgamgtjU) .

This song was in the Jennifer's Body soundtrack, and it was one of Hayley's demos.

As a guitar player, these chords are fun to play and as a teenager this song is so relatable.

Well how was I to know

That what we carved in stone

Would be so temporary?

Well how was I to know

That my first crack at love

Would not be the last

Would not be be the last?

Hits the nail on the head! I wish this song had been on one of Paramore's album's!

Pretty Little Liars

So am I the only one who loves the music on the show Pretty Little Liars? I read the books a few years ago, loved them. But seriously I feel like whoever decides the music for the show is taking everything of my playlist! Be sure to check out these:
"In My Stride" by Oh Mercy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URLppZ_pUwI
It is so beautiful and catchy at the same time. I was singing it two minutes after hearing it!

"Thieves and Their Hands" by Rachael Cantu ( fast forward to 0:10)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlkg0H7z6MA
Just one of those songs that make you a bit happier inside.

"Fresh Pair of Eyes by Brooke Waggoner"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbVE9PTOr8Q
There aren't very many lyrics, but it still make me want to cry anyways!

So much good music! I'll probably be searching the internet right after the show tonight until I find every single song. ABC Family has a page where they list all the songs in the order they appeared but I have very little patience.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack

Happy Summer! Anyways to the CD.... I am a total twilight nerd, have been for quite some time now. Also being, quite obviously a music nerd I love making playlists for the books I read, so back before there were Twilight movies I made plenty of playlists. I am always so excited for these soundtracks so I can compare my personal soundtrack to the real deal. These soundtracks have almost made their own genre of alternative of rock to some known as "Twilight Rock". These soundtracks take, virtually unknown artists and put them on these albums that land in the hands of every obsessed teenager like myself. Good publicity no? The Eclipse soundtrack excited me particularly because it has some artists on here that I already love to begin with like Metric, The Black Keys and of course Muse ( I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM). I also got turned on to some artists that I had heard of but never really took and interest in like Sia, Florence + The Machine. Overall I thought the soundtrack was good. There were some songs that almost put me asleep, with this type of music there is a very fine line between emotional indie rock and then just " cut your wrist" songs. Don't get me wrong, I love those types of songs but they were simply over shadowed by some of the other songs. My two favorites were " Heavy In Your Arms" by Florence + The Machine and "Neutron Star Collision ( Love Is Forever) " By Muse.

Hello by Tristan Prettyman

I have listened to Tristan Prettyman's first CD Twenty Three, for a while now, I can sing the entire thing from memory, but for some reason I have only listened to her newest album just recently. Her sophmore album has me hooked just lie the first did. It is the raw Tristan we know and love but her songs have fresh emotion. Some make me want to cry and others make we smile when I am actually crying. For me, I love how all her songs aren't just " Oh I'm in love" type songs or " Oh I'm heartbroken" type songs. There is a middle ground, her songs progress into whatever emotion she is trying to convey. She can also go from singing sweet ballads to rocking out with a rough electric guitar, something I appreciate from and artist. My two favorite songs from the album would have to be "Don't Work Yourself Up" and "You Got Me".

My review of Jack Johnson's latest will be up as soon as I get the CD which will hopefully be very soon!

Here We Go...

My first post! I have been meaning to do this for awhile now. I am still debating what C.D. to blab about so in the mean time I thought I would post the inspiration for the name of my blog ( Through the Radio). I really love Michelle Branch so while checking out her youtube channel, I found this live version of a song that is not yet released. It really got through to me, it just makes so much sense! So here it is! Michelle talks a little bit but if you just want to here the song fast forward to about 1:38

One more thing! One of my best friends Danielle ( button in the side bar) inspired me to make this blog because of the amazing-ness of her blog where she reviews books. I'm a book worm and her blog is fantastic! She is having a contest over at her blog to win a book (Summer of Skinny Dipping by Amanda Howells ). Check it out ASAP!
